Hi Sushil,
Thanks much for your time & effort on this and your response obviously. I understand the way how you're trying to tackle the issue by multiple queries, but I can't go that way as I already have multiple queries and with combined queries and I don't want to add more complexity. I want to create the logic in the report itself because of the following reasons.
- I can't directly use Ranking feature and get just the Top N rows, because, in the table data that I have, there are few more objects such as Division and in the report I need to add more tabs and filter on a Division, so when we use our logic we discussed in my first post, we should be able to see 10+3 or N+N=10 Names per Division (in different tabs). So, Ranking in the query doesn't help much as I want to bring Top N for each of the Divisions and not just the Top N of the whole data, hope that makes sense.
- Getting Top N for M1 Amt is also tricky as I didn't mention all the requirements in the logic, actually I need to get Top N based on Absolute value of M1 Amt, Absolute value >= 10K and where Total Amt is >= 0 (Total has to be a positive value). So, I don't know if we ca add all these requirements as filters before Ranking.
Bottom line, can we achieve this in the report?
Thanks,
